so i noticed the other day that my vent switch will turn but the vents dont actually change. it also doesnt turn off the blower anymore. wondering what might have broken, and what i need to do to fix it? when the car is shut off and restarted the blower turns off.
The default position for the airflow is out the defrost, so when you have a broken vacuum line to the selector, you get the default. It's a very small hard plastic line that runs across the firewall from the vacuum tree in front of the brake booster over near the heater core I believe. Usually heat takes its toll and that line cracks / breaks and causes this problem. Good luck!
