My 94 5.0 is shooting oil thru the intake manifold, running hot and knocking when its hot at high rpms. I read several posts that say this is blow by from worn rings. Is this true?
I think your PCV valve is stuck open (low load PCV circuit at the back on the intake manifold), which is the source of the oil in the intake manifold. Oil in the intake = oil in the chamber, and burning oil at high load will cause knock. That valve is a one way valve which should only open with intake manifold vaccum, and close up at higher manifold pressuers (WOT and near WOT).
If you are pushing oil through the high load PCV side, into the zip tube between the MAF and the TB, it is probably excessive blow-by over pressurizing the crankcase.
I would replace the PCV valve and see if that fixes it. If that doesn't do it, do a compression test followed by a leak-down test. Those two tests will tell you if the rings are shot.
