94 rear axle assembly in an 88?

Good to know,,, I need to do a swap on a 86 LX at some point.

It sounds like this is being done for the gear alone (not 5 lug stuff), so this was my first thought for a reply as well.

I run a 95 cobra rear in my notch, no problems and the extra 3/4" looks great.

If you want to keep your 4 lug wheels, the 87-88 Tbird Turbo Coupe axles are also 3/4" longer but are 4 lug. That will allow you to do the disk brake conversion and keep your 4 lug wheels.

If you use the disk brakes, you will also need to deal with the emergency brakes too. See http://www.svo73mm.cjb.net/ . I highly recommend that you throughly study this site, since the brake information is all in one place, accurate and complete.

Alternately, remove the 4 lug axles and drum brakes from your current rear axle and use them on the new axle assembly. It should be a one for one bolt up swap.
