'94 transmission question

Would a 5spd manual transmission off a '94 V-6 Mustang fit an '88 5 spd. 5.0L LX notchback? its got a transmission that needs to be rebuilt but i've got a '94 V-6 5spd thats just sitting there, if its not a "direct" swap what would i need to "convert" it, the car is stock exept for catback, pulleys and K&N, so its not making "tons" of tourque, also I would baby it of course being a V-6 tranny, I just need it to last for a couple of months till i get the money to rebuild the T-5 in currently in the '88, any help would be greatly appreciated

I know the imput shaft is a different diameter and length....

so is there anyway that i could buy a shaft that will make it work?

Why bother....you're just as well to spend a little extra money rebuilding your old one. Even with the proper input shaft, they V6 T-5's are only good for about 265lbs torque capacity. It's hardly worth the trouble.
