Thank you Kurt, im ordering a new fan and replacement plug the clips were all broken so nows the best time to fix it allThat was a resistor that was installed as part of a recall 2 dozen years ago. The factory fans were catching fire if the bearing seized in the fan. So Ford's solution was to install.......this thing. Not many people participated in the recall. Fan fires are not very common. I would go out on a limb and say that if you installed a new fan, and deleted that thing, you would probably be fine.

I replaced the fan and harness plug so far so goodWas a big problem most people probably forgot about by now. Covered many models not just Mustangs too.
