95 5.0 flywheel vs 93 5.0 flywheel

Just got a couple small questions. I have my flywheel off of my 95 and Id like to get it resurfaced and put it on my 93lx. Will everything work fine if I put it on that motor in my 93? The flywheel on the 93 has deep cracks on the surface. And there is only one dowel for aligning the clutch on it. I also have alot of vibration that is rpm related. Would the other three dowels cause the flywheel to be off balance enough to cause vibration?

yes, those flywheels are balanced, and lack of dowels will cause vibration issues. 95 engine is the same thing. same t5 same 50 oz 157 tooth flywheel.

Yeah I did some research on it...it is the same flywheel...

I don't think the absence of the dowel pins itself will cause a vibration...but if you misaligned it (kind of hard to do really when you put the pressure plate bolts in)...that could cause a vibration...

Well there was only 1 doewl pin in to hold the pressure plate in position. The other 3 were missing. LOL. But thanks for the info.

There is a total of 3 dowel pins...(so you need 2 more)...

I really don't think (just in my mind) how one little dowel pin will cause a vibration but I have never taken that chance and just had them all on there...

Your right there are 3 total. I wasn't thinking. I have a new set of bolts, tob, dowels, rms and pilot bearing coming in tomorrow. And my .014 offset dowels for the bellhousing will be in whenever there not on back order. My bell was .033 off at the furthest point. So thats where the vibration is coming from but I want to make sure I get everything perfect. Ive done some rigging in my time. I want everything replaced while Im in there.

stop by your local Ford dealer. That's where I got mine. If they don't have any then send me a PM. I believe I've got a couple extras and could drop them in an envelope for ya.

5spd GT- Thats what I have coming in.

Daggar- I still have to check the ford dealer. My speed shop called 3 venders and they were on backorder through lakewood. BTW. Ford gets them from lakewood. Check the part # through ford, its a lakewood part #.

Sort off off topic. But has anyone installed a rear main seal with minimal hand tools. Could I just tap it in with a 2x4 and a hammer?

on other cars, i have used a socket as a drift. i dont like the idea of going around the circumference with little taps and a piece of wood or whatnot because i think the seal can bind of get a small kink (been there, done that). i now have a cheap seal driver kit, but the socket works. might also check with the local parts store - some (autozone i think, for one) loan out a seal driver kit.
