Finishing up my build and one of the last things on the list is the power steering pump reservoir. I've noticed when I fill it up, the next day the carpet under it is moist and upon further inspection, the plastic reservoir is not tightly fastened to the metal on the pump. It's not just hanging loose, but with very little effort, it can be pulled and jiggled so that the fluid all leaks out the bottom.
What's the best fix for this? Should I remove the pump, get the plastic housing off, clean it up and seal it with some silicone? The pump has worked fine, I must have jarred the plastic reservoir hard enough when installing the accessories that I broke the seal. I'd hate to have to buy a new pump just because of this, so if there's a good way to repair it myself, I'd like to do so. Anyone with experience with this please chime in.
