95 5.0 ho auto convertible

When I tried to time it few weeks back noticed the timing marks were way off, no vibration though.

I just installed a TCI Elastomer Harmonic Balancer part # 872010

I started it and it is vibrating like crazy at idle, had to shut it down.

Started again and looked under hood, nothing apparent, loose, wobbly. nothin.

Is this the wrong damper or somehow defective ?

Car is totally stock

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TCI-872010/

thats the one i got, whats weird is, when i go to summits site and put in ford 5.0 i only get to choose from these two, 28 and 50 ounce

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TCI-872007/

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/TCI-872014/

the 872010 isnt even a choice, though its on their site

i saw other forums guys used the 2010 on the 5.0, idk maybe this isnt the right one for my car.

and why is there a choice between 28 and 50 ?
how do i know which one is right ?

thanks

(goin to barn to put old balancer on til I figure this out

So long as it's the 50 oz imbalance.

Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

You got the one for internally balanced engines. That will ruin your engine. You need the 50oz imbalance. There is a choice because you can put either a 28oz imbalance or internally balanced engine in the car. My engine is internally balanced.

Looks like you got the wrong one. Don't run the motor any longer or you will damage it.

yep i figured that out lol

I then compared the timing marks and key on that one to my old one, the old one had NOT slipped, even though when I tried to time using those marks they were way off.

Then I figured out why lol

My SEARS timing light has a knob to ADVANCE the light

So I put the old hb back on, double checked the TDC mark with the number 1 cyl and all is well, so now I have this new balancer i dont need
