I got my hands on a 95 cobra computer... i have a 95 gt... how much better are the computers ... i also go the whole wiring harness(from all the way to the tail lights to the gauge cluster to the engine... everything) plus the computer... how much do you all think thats worth??

It's absolutely the worst computer you could put in your stang. Throw it as far away as you can.......NO JOKE! They pull fuel and timing like crazy and are for the tree huggers, not for a performance enthusiast. Besides....unless you've got the 24lb/hr injectors to go with it, it's not going to work for ya regardless.

If you’re gonna convert, go to a pre-SN95 Computer from an 89-93. Much better. :nice:

I just installed a 94/95 cobra computer in my 95 gt last week. I did that along with installing the correct sample tube for my MAF. My purpose was trying to improve the quality of my idle, which it did help. My mods are similar to a cobra and that was my thought behind it.

The cobra came equipped with 24lb. injectors, but still used the same MAF as the the gt with the 19lb. injectors. The cobra's computer program was calibrated for that setup. You must take that in account with your setup or up may have an air/fuel ratio issue.

I don't know if you'll see any performance increases with the computer. I would imagine that the cobra would have done much better than 25 hp gain over the gt with the 24lb injectors, better intake, gt40 heads and 1.7 roller rockers. The comuputer's program could have written with very mild settings.

cobra computer

If your running a basically stock car the GT computer is more agressive and a better choice. But if you have many mods and will be installing a treecer or eec-tuner the cobra computer is superior over the gt. it has a better processor and respondes better to custom setups.
Thanks,
Kevin

BTW, how did you go 8.81 @ 80.07mph in the 1/8th, but only 14.9 @97.64 with no 3rd gear in the 1/4? You must have been in 3rd by the end of the 1/8th, why would the rest of your run be so crappy?

they were at differnt times...i ran the 1/8 mile time couple months before and the 1/4 mile was recent..

If you get a tweecer, and keep the T4M0 Computer, you can have the idle of the Cobra Computer, with the timing and no shift retard of an A9L without having to loose the parameters of an electric fan and other stuff. So the T4M0 computer is your best option with a tweecer.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think they are the same computers. They are both EEC-IV computers that implement the CBAZA strategy. The difference is in the calibration files they use. A manual convertible GT has the T4M0 calibration (what I have), a Cobra (manual I think) has the J4J1 calibration. The main difference is that the J4J1 is for 24# injectors and the standard Cobra MAF (I don't remember what that is off the top of my head).

Can you tell I am a TwEECer guy?

Really....talk to anyone who's done an A9L conversion. They'll tell you different.
Sure. If they don't know any better, would you expect them to say anything different? Personally I'd like to keep the electric fan control, and the faster processor. Going to a stock A9L is the biggest waste of money I can imagine -- and it costs more than just getting an EEC tuning device to begin with.
