I have a 1995 Mustang 3.8L and it bogs down in 3rd gear. It makes a sputtering sound too. When I shift into 3rd the rpms drop and it slows down and wont advance, it barely rolls. I was thinking the fuel pump, but im not too sure. Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.
The TCC engages in 3rd and locks the TC to a 1:1 ratio with the tranny. This can be changed with a programmer or have a chip burned. Also, might want to do a Jmod on the trans for sharper shifts - it will feel like a whole new trans.
but your bogging is the effect of the TCC. You could also wire the TCC up manauly - if you need help look me up.
