95vs96

Hey guys I know 5.0vs 4.6 has been done over and over, and I just wanted to say I think both motors are great with their own advantages, imo. Anyway I was wondering the other night if you had a 95vs96 go up against each other. Everyone always says it's a drivers race, but does one or the other eventually ever pull away from the other completly bone stock? But the real question is this, which is better modded? If you take the 4.6 and put the PI intake, cams, and heads on it. Then do the same on the 5.0 with some aftermarket heads, intake manifold, and cams. Maybe other bolt ons like gears, exhaust things like that. Which would win?

Sorry if this thread has been done before and please lets not make this a big argument with people hating 5.0s or 4.6s. I have just honestly been wondering about this.

Modded--- I'll go with the 95

The 5.0 has many more options when it comes to h/c/i modifications, and I believe it responds better to mods

If you're willing to wait til next spring I have a friend (mistercmk on here) who has a 95 or 94 I believe it is with the 5.0 and my 96 with the PI cams/manifold and we'll be running them next spring. Not sure what he's got on it really but by then i'll have some more on mine as well so they should be fairly close mod-wise, except the whole his 5spd vs my auto.

Hmmmm......I don't know, I priced out a few things for my old 91' 5.0 and was suprised to find how expensive the stuff was. I found a head/cam intake package from Summit by Trick Flow for $2199.99 and the kit from Holly was $2229.95 Heads alone were $1287 and the GT40 intake was $600 Yipes!!

When I have seen it at track the 95 takes the 96 in the low end then they 96 will catch up they seem to even out around the end and get very similar times.

But everyone still seems to say that the 95 will take the 96...

5.0 parts ARE cheaper. everytime i look at headers i cry when i see ceramic 5.0 headers for $165 and LT's for $240

Ya headers are cheaper for the 5.0 as well as just having to buy the one cam as opposed to the two for the 4.6 but I was suprised to find out how much the heads and intake was going to be.
