Whats this harness thats needed for this swap? I bought some that came with the 96-98 harness...plugged the left side in and everything works(for some reason i didn't think it would). Stop, parking, turn and reverse all work. Is the adapter harness i've seen just the 96-98 harness itself or what? Since they work...am i chancing anything or am i good to go?

Got a great deal on these off a white car. Now i may look into the sequintel(?) or better yet the chase option.

Go figure...i thought the 5.0 engine was the 5.0 trademark.

Haven't decided if i'm going to leave em yet(haven't actually put them on yet either...just plugged them in)...they were cheap enough to give me some options.

Yeah, i knew what you meant. I still have the "mustang" rear bumper and stock hood...so those sticklers will still know its a 94-95. For now anyways.

Put the tails in...took all of 15 minutes.

I like the 96-98 tail lights, but I doubt I'd swap them. To each his own but you are going to catch flack for it from the 5.0 faithful, just fair warning buddy.

I could care less what anybody's opinion is. If they wanna pay me to keep the stockers on..so be it. I don't see their name on the title. I'm a diehard mustang fan/owner for over 10 years...owning nearly 20 5.0's and i've never once said anything derogatory about anyone's else's ride. Its their car, their choice of mods...get over it. That isn't directed at you 5.0, just an overview. Hell, i'd even throw in a set of clear tails just to piss somebody off!

clear tails wouldn't look too bad on a white car though.....

the sequentials will cost you more than the taillights did. they do look cool, but too much money for what they are IMO.

To answer your question there is a specific harness for the 94/95 and the 96-98. Apparantly one of the bulbs is different on the newer lights. If you are using the wiring that came the newer lights then you're fine. They both have the same plugs for the chasis wiring. I swapped in a set this past summer and couldn't be happier. No offense to the horizontal lamps, but I think the newer ones look much cleaner.

I got em and like them alot. Besides, the originals were all faded and rat looking. Bought mine @ Carlisle w/ the harness for $100 bucks. Were like brand spankin new. Could not pass it up!

I paid 50 bucks at the boneyard for the 96-98 wiring. You got a sweet deal Mav!

Got mine a little cheaper than that..with the harness.

The chase is sequintel..just isn't blink, blink, blink off. It sweeps..blink,blink,blink and starts right over. Check ebay, thats where i saw it. Much better imo. The kit is even switched..you can have chase or sequintel.

You're exactly right, it is your car and it's your right to do whatever you want, and I think the 96-98 tails would look good.

Also I didn't mean I, myself, would bash you for that mod, I'm just saying other people will.

Has anyone noticed the horizontals make the rear end look wide while the verticals slim it down?

Yup they do give that apearance of being wider to me (or us) at least.

i used to like the 96-98 more (when i had a 96). since i got the 95, the horizontal tails have really grown on me. fwiw, i see about 10 96-98's for every 94/95. so the tails make my car more unique.

a few months back i ran across a guy in a wingless stang. it had the 96-98 tails, so i thought it was one. then i saw the side badges and i realized it was a 94/95. he had dropped in a blown 331 and it was bad a$$. turned out he came across the tails cheap and he needed tails, so he picked them up.

it is your car. if you like the 96-98 ones more, go for it.
