whenever i start the car when cold i hear a rattle in motor then it goes away is it related to oil pressure pump or chain guides ? my oil pressure is is on the N on normal it used to be right in the middle everyso often it will shoot up back to the middle ? any thoughts ??????????????

The cold start rattle is probably closely related to the type of oil and oil filter you're using. In the Mustang 4.6L engines, a motorcraft oil filter with a 5w-30 oil is recommended. The filter from motorcraft is one of the few filters out there with an anti-drainback valve on the correct side.

The oil pressure gauge fluctuation is your oil pressure sensor malfunctioning. You do have a full crankcase correct? If so, replace the oil pressure sensor. It should be attached to the oil filter housing.
