I just picked up a 96 Cobra over the weekend and need to get it ready for inspection. I notice that the right side turn signals work if i hold the lever to the right (like when just changing lanes and needing a couple blinks) but if I push it to click automatically, the signals don't work. All I hear is a fast clicking.

Anyone?

Are all of the turn signal bulbs lightning up properly?

All of the bulbs are lighting. I was wondering if maybe it was a relay, switch, or maybe even the entire turn signal/wiper unit that comes out of the steering column.

Commong problem in mustangs. simple fix too, either replace it for $25 or open up the turn signal harness and clean off the contacts. bend them a bit if they're not connecting.

Tom, do you mean replace the "stick" coming out of the steering column?

I Have The Exact Same Problem

I have the exact same problem on my 97Cobra. If i made the turnsignal left it worked fine and it i made the right turn signals it would click real fast and not blink in the dash. So I went to the autoparts store and was checking the manual for a flasher relay. Then i started to play with the hazard switch a bit and ta da it worked. Then all the sudden it stopped working, I was like WTF. So I turned the key ignition on to see if the signal would work again, and it died COMPLETELY. I then wiggled the hazard switch back and it worked again. It's that stupid switch, I suppose the contacts are worn out. I'll take a look at it this weekend and see if i could fix it.

Mine does it but not all the time....Seems like it does it more in colder weather...

And my hazzards have never worked as long as I've had the car...

Edit...I just went out and wiggled the hazzard switch and what do you know...I have hazzards that work now... :nice: Now I can turn them on when I beat ricers from a 40 punch on the highway  :rlaugh:
