Hey guys the my gt is hesitating when I hit the gas whether I hit it from idle or punch it from 2500 rpms. Also there is light smoke coming from the drivers side of the back of the engine and it smells kinda like exhaust. The car was sitting for 3-4 months any ideas, could this be from not having much gas in the car and old gas? Thanks for any help

There could be a ticking sound although I dont know if it accelerates as the rpms do what could that mean? It smells kinda like exhaust and I had a hard time starting the car after it started fine every other time. It hesitates every time I hit the gas not just at low rpms.

Well I put some gas in the car and it stopped hesitating but It is still smoking lightly from the back of the engine. I dont know what the smell is it smells alitl like exhaust. If it was an exhaust leak could it still smoke a little after the engine stops running? I checked all the fluids and all are full. There might be a very light oil leak im not sure but it doesnt smell like oil burning.

What is the color of the smoke?

Blue= burning oil
White= burning coolant
Black= running rich

If it's an exhaust leak, you will hear a ticking noise. With the car running, rev the car from the engine bay and listen for any noises near the smoke you are seeing.

If you have an exhaust leak it will sound raspy, ticking, and/or like a school bus.

Add some gas, put some seafoam in your gas tank also (will clean out your injectors if they are clogged) ....

Check your oil, coolant, and other fluids, check for hoses disconnected, loose, or worn out. Could be your alternator or battery too .... :shrug:
