96 mustang coolant leak

so i went to get my car out this spring and i fired it up when it got hot it started leaking coolant out from under the thermostat housing it is a 96 gt with a 4.6 in it i was wondering if anyone has had this problem i replaced the gasket and the housing and is still leaking somewhere

Yes, thousands of people have had this problem. The water crossover on the NPI/early PI intake manifolds tends to crack and leak water after a while. Only solution is to replace the manifold. The newer manifolds have an aluminum water crossover instead of a plastic one like what's on your car (assuming it is the stocker). Might as well go ahead and swap in a PI intake manifold, as it's worth quite a few horsepower, and was actually cheaper for me. Search PI Intake Swap and you should find all the info you need.

You can search and find 100's litterally on that subject along w/that some pissed off mustang owners!

I don't think our cars are covered anymore. The problem was a long time ago and if not fixed by now, I doubt Ford will do the fix at this point. I just sent someone a manifold with the aluminum crossover for free. I even paid for shipping. The recipient didn't act too grateful. But, oh well.

The extended coverage was for 7 years. The coverage for a 96 expired after 2003. Sorry.

Word, Damn, I wish I knew you when my intake cracked, I actually would given you money and a video game or something. There is no pleasin' some people!
