i have 97 cobra i wanted to know if a 160 thermostat is to low and will it mess up my tune or anything else

Yes, 160 is too low. Stick with a replacement t-stat if your factory t-stat went bad.

Running too "cold/low" of a t-stat will greater hinder your engine from getting up to temperature.

Yes, it will also "trick" the processor into thinking that engine coolant temp is
that of a cold startup, keeping it in "open loop" longer, and it will keep the
fuel trim richer than it should be after it warms up... better off keeping the
stock 195 temp t-stat.

My 160 thermostat keeps the coolant temp at 175-180deg and does not delay the warm-up period, even in temps under 30 degrees.

Mine is a Hypertech 160deg.
