Hey guys, I've always done oil changes just by feel since I didn't have a torque wrench. Well I was lucky enough to get a torque wrench for Christmas and am do for an oil change. Can anyone help me with the specs for the oil filter, drain plug?? Also if you might know the torque spec for the wheel lug nuts I'd really appreicate it.

Hope everyone is having a good 07 so far.

Oil pan drain plug is 8-11 ft.lbs
Lug nuts are 85-104 ft.lbs
The oil filter does not have a torque spec

Oil filter is hand tight and the drain plug you can get away with tightening with a wrench until it stops turning. Once you get that dont force it further.

Haha yeah pretty much, it's like when you get a new toy for your birthday or Christmas you keep playing with it. I've changed the oil for 5 years with no torque wrench just thought since I had it I'd do it "by the book". Ended up just doing it the normal way without it but I did use the new jack I picked up, was done in 20 mintues!!! Amazing what having a good hydrolic jack can do to speed up the process. I did torque my front lug nuts though, haha had use the toy.

I will always own a floor jack.... it's a definite MUST for any car lover / do-it-yourselfer..

Enjoy the Tq wrench, do a set of heads, then you can actually use it
