So I bought a wrecked 97 GT. Somehow the keys were lost. What is the best way to get a set/get a set programmed.

I know 96 up they went to the PATS system, so I'm guessing that makes it a bit harder...

I know it's easy to program a keyless remote fob, but how about an ignition keyif you don't have a key to copy from??

TIA

Call a lock smith. They can make you some.

Yeah I'm sure they can make some if I had a spare key, but I have no keys at all.

They can make me a key without having one to put in the machine??

call a locksmith and they will pull the codes from your cylinders then program them. a dealer cannot look up the code as ford only keeps key codes back 10 years from production date.

i know around here they charge about $350 to come to the car, code, cut and program. you need a minimum of 2 keys.

When I picked up my car they lost the key for the ignition. They called a lock smith to come make them. Took about an hour and they made me two keys from blanks. They work like a charm.
