98 Cobra fit 2004??

my brother has a 98 Cobra which has had a couple different exhaust systems on it, but he is giving me a Flowmaster cat-back for free for my 2004 GT. not knowing half as much as i would like to about my Mustang yet, will this set up bolt directly on to the factory set up? the Flowmaster system also comes with an X-pipe, but it has no cats. is there any way i can put cats on that X pipe and still have it fit correctly or did the X pipe need to come with the cats already on it? any help would be appreciated, thanks.

I think that the exhaust hangers are different. It may need some small modifications to get it to fit. TAke it to a muffler shop like mineke and the should be able to do it for a cheap cost. As far as the cats go, if you want them, buy high flow cats and the muffler shop can weld those in for you.

the hanger will be different. The X pipe is bent a little different and will not bolt up directly. It can be made to work but I would buy the parts for your car.

thanks for the info, guys. i think i might just do the cat-back for now and see if i can rig the hangers up securely myself. if not, i'll just have to make sure i don't bang the stock exhaust to h3ll trying to get it out. i'll wait on the X pipe until i can get the money for the Magnaflow w/cats.

I think the newer GT hangers are the same as the 98 Cobra hangers. The 98 Cobra hangers are in-line, not perpendicular to, the pipes.
