I recently purchased a hurricane katrina victim, a 98 Mustang GT convertible. I would like to swapout drive train, motor/trans with out any modificatons. What year Mustang GT could I purhcase drivetrain motor/trans 4.6 and not have to make any modifications? 94-03? Can anyone please advise?
Go with a 99+ preferably 01 and up. Any of the 96 and up engines would work but the 01's would have less miles, improved crossover on the intake manifold.
94-95 wouild be 5.0 engines which is doable too but good luck finding one with low miles.

You can use a 98 or later engine/trans w/o major modifications
