I've been looking pumps up but this damn 98 off year is confusing me. In the 98's, does the computer control the voltage to the fuel pump like the 99+ stangs?

If this is a 99+ fuel system set up I can get 03/04 cobra pumps? How much hp can they handle with stock lines for a 98? Stock fuel rails will work till 550 rwhp is that correct? I would be very greatful if someone had some part numbers.

I notice that alot of guy's are using the Ford Focus and Cobra fuel pumps for added fuel pressure, like the ones listed below on Ebay. Check it out! Good luck, Tommy.

Ebay Item # 250400136662 Focus

Ebay Item # 320351038630 Cobra (Supports 600 HP Engines)

Another pump: http://dagostinoracing.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=11414

You need to look at your fuel rails to see which one you have. If you have a return line then you use the same pump as 96-97, if only one line the you obviously have a returnless. Look on the passenger side back of the fuel rail over to behind the strut tower. Need to know which system you have before you buy a pump. Thats all that is different.

This is one way to find out what fuel system you have?

To make sure you can crawl under your car to take a look at the top front area of your fuel tank. If you see one fuel fitting like in the top picture, you have a returnless fuel system. If you see two fuel fittings like the one in the lower picture, that means you have a return fuel line system. Hope this helps. Good luck, Tommy.

98 cars are the odd balls. You have a return style fuel system but the pump is like the 99 and up cars. Just get an aviator or focus pump, i think they are 238lph or something like that
