I dont know anything about rims what size are the stock rims on the 98 gt?

They come with two different sizes. Either 16x7... or 17x8.

There is another optional 17" wheel for 1998.

It's not the split 5-spoke. You could also get the 94-97 Cobra wheel in a painted version with a solid center cap. I forget the package it was offered with, but it's very rare.
