I saw someone who had done that on car domain a while ago, but lost the bookmark due to upgrading to vista. He did it on a DHG bullitt and removed the bullitt scoops and smoothed everything out...looked pretty good too, but it seemed like a lot of work.

Yes, there are holes. And there is a big gaping hole under it that lets you see the wonderful sound/dust protection material. I have a friend who's drivers sidescoop flew off, I'll see if I can get him to post a pic.

The early Mustangs had working side scoops. The scoop actually drew air into a small vent inside the wheel-well. Around 95 or 96 Ford got rid of it and made it fake.

The stockers could be modified to be functional, which would be cool.

There was a guy with a homebuilt twin turbo kit for his 94/95 and he used the area behind the scoops for his intakes.

yea im thinking of fabbing some ductwork, but placement would be key so the weels would spit crap through the vents and dirty up my sides....hmm...

That sure would be a big hole to fill up to go scoopless. Personally I like the looks of the scoop better than without. Now fabbing a workable kit to make them useable could have potential.
