99+ 2v GT anyone have Kenne Bell?

Yes... $5K for the kit (price is on their website) + optional intake parts recomanded for another 30+ rwhp...
9psi standard kit is maximum our stock block can safely handle, but with KB intake I see 10psi.
My next mod is put back the stock gears to get more traction...

I installed mine two weeks ago. I got the 9 lb intercooled charger. I paid about $5000.00 with shipping. I have seen 10 pounds in cool weather. Awesome performance. Well worth the price. If you have a 99 or 2000 GT make sure you get the fuel rail with a port for a fuel gauge. Mine did not come with. I called Kenne Bell this morning and was told that the fuel rail with a port is a $70.00 option. I went on to their web sight and do not see such an option. When I ordered there was not mention of this either. I am going to call again tommorrow and raise hell. Besides that I would not have gone with any other other charger if I had to do it again. If you are planning on installing it yourself set aside three days. I took my time and made sure I had all the tools needed. I plan on getting the cold air kit, 75 mm throttle body and 90 MM MAF next. I think it gives you an extra 20 to 30 HP. There tune is pretty concervative with 18 deg total timing at WOT. I would get a switch chip to allow 23 deg timing with high octane gas. I think it is $99.00 extra.

has anyone had this kit installed? if so, what boost , what mods did u do to go with it, and how much did u pay?

One question thats been asked but never really answered is reliability. Is the Kennebell less detonation prone than centris. I'm in the market myself. I see 400rwhp as the limit, if that if you're lucky. Thats the consenus.

GinoGT,

3.73 will be worse! I already hate my 3.55s.
1st gear is useless, I go to 6000rpm right away and have no traction.
2nd not much different, still spins the car sideways...

My engine is like a 03 Viper, and viper does not have such short gearing.
Once I put a T56 and 3.27, I'll have similar ratios as the T45+3.55s for 2nd/3rd/4th, except for a better longer 1st gear that will give me more top speed of the line rather than rubber on the road and no speed...

Then 4.10's! :p

1. Control arms
2. More sidewall

18's look good, but if you're putting down lots of power like that, a 17" wheel with more sidewall than an 18" could help out nicely.

Breaking 450+RWHP is when I would seriously start to consider running some Nitto DR's daily.

kenne bell 9psi

I have the kit installed and just had it redyno'd today and got awesome #'s. outside temp about 28, perfect. I got 447rwhp and 422rwtq. I have only installed bassani catback and xpipe, and headers. cold air intake. and thats it. ill try to post dyno when i scan it in my pc.

I read on the message board on T&J's website that tim had been working on his kenne bell tune. He said in the upper rpm band it was as easy as centrifugals to tune. He is using an af of 11.5-12.0 no higher than 12.0. He said however, the lower rpm band has had a bit of detonation but he has it all worked out. I'm guessing that since you'll get instant boost off idle this can create a higher risk for low rpm detonation (as compared to centrifugal). ITs probably much less fatal than a high rpm detonation. Nonetheless he apparently worked out the tune. He over 500 rwhp out of 12 psi...but it was on a built block with headwork i believe.

Wow :jaw: You and I have the same Windsor block. Wonder if the theory is true about windsors being stronger than Romeos? At least with the 99-00 cars the compression is 9 to 1. Which would allow for more boost. Does your car have cats?
