I'm looking at a 99 Cobra and I'm pricing out upgrades. I'm looking at exhaust and I'm astonished that a header to tailpipe exhaust will cost more then 1300 dollars. I was wondering since 4v have a bad low end if long tubes will make it worse? Also, what exhaust systems are going to drone and have annoying interior noise. I think I might go catted due to this. I can't stand the sound of slp someone give me some suggestions on whats out there and whats going to work.

I think on a 4v flowmaster and bassani sound the best.

I had a 96 Cobra, I just got rid of it. owned it 8 years.

BBK longtube headers, BBK o/r H-pipe, and a Dyno Max Super Turbo cat-back. This combo made good power, and was very quiet. No resonance/humming inside the cabin at any speed. It was the ultimate sleeper exhaust system.

Longtubes will add upto 20RWHP but cost a lot of money. If you are on a budget, skip them. Longtubes will also be quieter than the stock manifolds with the same mid pipe and cat-back. IF you keep the stock manifolds I would still go offroad mid pipe and a Super Turbo Cat-back. Flowmasters are NOT for you if you do not want loud, droany exhaust. Even with cats....they droan.

Regardless what combo you choose, you gotta get that stock exhaust off of there. 99 Cobras had the recall, but even with the fix that Ford did to them, the exhaust they replaced it with still sucks. I have stock exhaust off my 03 GT and the opening in the tubing for the cat-back is 1-7/8". People say it's 2.25" but the tape don't lie.
