there is a 99 cobra motor for sell near me but he said the head gasket is blown because when he gets on it, water gets pushed out and temp rises quick. how easy do these blocks/heads warp and crack. what are the odds that i can just throw gaskets on it and it be fixed. he saids it still runs great.

Does the cars coolant level decrease rapidly? Does the exhaust smell sweet? (Don't sniff too much.) Is there coolant in the oil? It might not be the head gasket.

i have not seen it yet, i asked about water in the oil but he failed to tell me that again. i am awaiting a phone call. i also asked if it made any engine noises and he said it makes a slight tap for a second when first started. is this bearings, or do these motors do this. who it may have been just sitting for a long time between startups.

What are you interested in, the heads, block, or entire engine? Are you considering swapping this '99 engine into one of your cars?

I would be *very* careful about the engine as a whole, but it might be ok to use as a parts vulture engine build up project....YMMV

the entire engine is what i am after. do you mean this motor or that year all together. i am wary on this one. that is why i want to go check it out before i do anything. i want to put it in my convertable. if i could just find somebody with some stage 2 cams that i don't have to cut pistons for i would just get those for the current motor i got. i want to trade an almost complete diy turbo kit for them.
