a 302 w/ 351w head qeustion

I'm puttin on a set of 351w heads on my 91 gt engine, now I gotta order certain bolts for the heads. should I order these from summit ? Ford: 302 with 351W heads, 1/2 in.-7/16 in. stepped washer, for use with 7/16 in. bolts, chromemoly steel, bla... what are your suggestions? I need to know asap.Thanks l8r, Jeff

Summit is a good source for most items. The only reason you need those bolts is because the 351 has larger holes in the head and in the block. Those bolts step up right at the head bolt holes for a tight fit.

What is so good about those 351 heads, are they some factory hi po heads or ported? If not, they will probably hurt your performance. If the combustion chamber is bigger (probably is) then your compression will also be down.

I've had them cleaned and had the valves re-done on them. The kids that is putting them on said that the year heads they are are perfect for a bolt on. I thought about what you said and he said it should be no problem. I'll let you guys know how it works out.
