A/C blows only through defrost vents

My '95 GT's A/C now only blows throught the defrost vents. No matter what position the dial is on the air refuses to blow through the front vents for the driver and passenger. If anyone has had this happen before I would appreciate some help because I do not know how to fix this problem.

You have a broken vacuum line. Check in the engine bay, on the passenger side, there should be a vacuum tree, one of the lines coming out is real skinny, and it goes all the way to the driver side and into the A/C evaporator or something mounted on the firewall. If it breaks, like it did on me, your A/C system will revert to it's failsafe mode and blow only through the defrost vents. Sorry, but I don't have any pics right now, I can post some tonight if you need me to.

Yeah it sound like one of the vac lines along the firewall has broken off.

Think they hit the nail on the head, same thing happened to me on the cobra.

sounds like the problem but I think the tree is on the drivers side

The tree is on the driverside. Just trace the A/C vacuum line all the way to the other side where it goes into the firewall. That line will probably be broke at some point before it goes into the firewall. I think this has happened to everybody at some point.

It's the thinest line on that tree. That vacuum line opens the door to the vents. Very common problem on our cars.
