Check your fuses. I just bought an 02 GT and was experiencing exactly the same thing. Started by checking my fuses under the dash and under the hood and sure enough, the ac pressure fuse under the hood was missing. Put a fuse in and ac started blowing ice cold.

I had the same issue a couple of years ago. Mine turned out to be a bad switch on the back of the compressor which led to the discovery of a bad Schrader valve as well. Repair for both issues was just under $140.

It should, but you'retaking a risk unless you know for sure that it works. I am not sure about you, but around here most places offer a free AC check. That could save you some money if your compressor isn't bad. The only bad thing is they'll need the car for about 2 hours. By it could save your wallet.

You also may not need to replace the entire compressor. I just replaced the a/c clutch assembly and it solved my problem.

Absolutely. No reason to replace the entire compressor.

Got a/c fixed, it wasn't the compressor, it was a part behind the radiator. He said it was the shroud.

Glad to hear it! Best money I ever spent was fixing my car's AC!
