anyone around here have the a/c delete that puts the power steering pump where the the a/c unit is normally?...any complaints? also whats a good way to get rid of the smog pump?

any pics guys / gals?

No complaints with my ford racing a/c delete kit. Looks good and saves 40lbs.

To remove the smog pump just unbolt it and plug any lines. You'll need a shorter belt obviously for removing these 2 things.

That's the best way to do it Ryan unless you can afford a March pully set. The delete kit is about $50 from Ford, unless you can luck out and find a car in the junkyard that was a no AC car....it'll have the exact same bracket on it that Ford sells to delete it yourself.

Oh, as for ditching the smog, just unbolt all of it and take it off....simple. You'll have to plug the holes in the back of the head where the tube connects them. Take the tube with you to a hardware store and match up the threads with a bolt, buy two bolts and screw them in.

in your sig it looks like you have the same delete kit? my buddy has one laying around and said i can have it.

remember what size belt? you have smog still?

No smog and no i have no idea  but here's what you do...

Get your old long belt, and cut it so it's no longer a loop. Then, have someone hold it in one spot on a pully, and then you take it and follow the belt routing path around until you get back to where you started (you can also use a string or something for this). Measure how long is is from start to where you stopped at the beginning. Then, go to the parts store and buy 3 belts....one of the same size as your measurement, and one an inch or so shorter and longer. Take them home and see which fits best. I say buy 3 because that just saves trips. Take into consideration that belts stretch over time, so you want the smallest belt you can get away with. Then return the other 2 belts.

Then you can do like i always forget, and take a permanent marker and write it down someone out of sight under your hood so you don't have to measure it the next time you need a belt.

easy to ditch smog, dont buy delete kit. the bolts you need are 5/8-11tpi x (3/4 or 1") llong if i remember correctly to plug your heads, but a lot of people use spark plugs... i just went to a bolt supply store, cost me 75 cents for both....

my FRPP a/c delete, and smog removed (no kit)

Check alignment when you do it. For some reason mine needed to be shimmed forward a bit with washers. Otherwise the beslt would slip off the water pump just enough that the belt would fray on the end and tear.

Also if you do the frpp delete you might have difficulties installing a blower later. The tensioner won't clear the water pump with the vortech/paxton setups with stock pulleys, with this delete.

if i was ever to go with boost it wouldent be a for a while. :(

oh - just a tip if your plan on buying multiple belts! don't run the engine if you have aluminum pullies. the aluminum rubs off onto the belts and they won't let you return them! i have a couple extra $40 belts that are a bit too big because of this... remember to account for stretch! :bang:

i dont have under drive pulleys..would that change the belt size..

good idea 85.

clean bay btq...did you make the coil cover?

u/d's do change the belt length, but i don't know by how much. the accessory drive pullies are a bit larger, but the crank pully is smaller.... i'm guessing its within an inch of w/o underdrives for length. make sure you reroute it the way i have it drawn. i made the mistake of trying to make the stock routing work, but the tensioner pushes the belt down onto the wp belt and they rub. this way you wont have issues.

as for the cover, i just sanded and painted the stocker with high temp spray paint. thx btw
