I know people have had this problem so can anyone direct me to where to get the replacement or what the replacement hose is actually called.

I work at a ford dealership so I will buy it there but I just have no idea what they actually call this piece.

I guess Im gonna have to find a way to protect that line and keep it away from the header.

Anyone find a good solution?

If you cannot reroute the stock hose away from the headers, reuse the aluminum connectors to reassemble a new hose (maybe longer) routed well away from the headers... replacing stock pieces in the A/C system will change the refrigerant requirement (weight)... but if you don't get A LOT away from the original hose routing you will be OK... you can put some insulation as well to do a neater job...

I rerouted all the hoses on my Hardtop 1968 when I installed a sanden conversion from Classic Air... I installed a sight glass in the liquid line to get a proper charge of refrigerant...

It was never a problem untill I put my blower on....maybe the way the intake sits in there pushed the line down onto the header

But anyways, I will have to wrap the line or pull the thing up.

All I did to fix this was pull it up (carefully) so it didn't sit on the headers. I used a zip tie to hold it up and off the header. As long as it's not touching you are fine. No reason to length it, reroute it. I suppose if you were really worried you could wrap it with header wrap so it had a little more insulation but the key here is to make sure it doesn't lay on it.
