Howdy all, I recently purchased an 04 GT 40th edition. I love the car. My biggest complaint is a chirping sound coming from the clutch/pedal. I went through the forums and didn't really find what I was lookin for. When I put slight pressure on the the pedal chirp goes away. Has anybody expierenced this? Any help would be great. The car has 67,000 miles on it and as far as I know has the original clutch in it. Any help would be great.

Thanks Dave.

That would be the throwout bearing. No fix except to replace it, which requires removal of the transmission.

However, you can generally drive on it like that for a while if you don't mind the chirping.

I've put around 35-40k on my GT with the chirping coming and going, and that includes a lot of track passes and racing.

Yeah, as long as it's just a chirp, you're probably fine. Once it changes from a chirp to something more ominous, don't wait long to get it fixed because TOB self-destruction is imminent.

I have a brand new clutch in my car, and had the chirping, and from what i understand its common, if you want to get rid of the noise a clutch adjuster will do the trick.
