i am about to drop either a '89 5.0/t-5 or '93 5.0/t-5 into my 64 1/2 coupe. the current engine and trans in the car is a 302 and a c-4 from a '68. I have done the research and understand almost everything required for the swap but I have a few questions. can I use my "old style" starter solenoid, coil, etc or do I need to use the "new style" pieces from the donor car. Also, I read that I need to run a return fuel line to the gas tank, whats the best way to do this b/c I don't want to weld on my gas tank Thanks for the help and I am sure yall will be getting some more questions from me because I am 17 and I want to do all the work by myself (along with some help from people in my car clubs).

Yes, you do need the new starter relay and coil. As for the return lines, you don't have to weld them so much as silver solder them. I know of another way short of buying a tank with them already installed for you.

You will need the solenoid and coil. You could burn up the TIF module if you don't use the newer style solenoid. You don't have to weld in new fuel lines. I bought 3/8" aluminum fuel line from summit and ran my return line through the drain plug hole in my tank. I connected the aluminum line to the fitting with fuel injection rate rubber hose and clamps. If your tank has a drain plug, this is the simple solution for you. I have a 65 Mustang with a 92 Mustang 5.0 EFI with a c-4 trans. It works great.

The starter solinoid is the same, if you don't have the "I" terminal on the new system you can just leave it off. The coil is different, higher voltage.

You will need a return line in the tank, if you don't like the idea of soliering on the gas tank, pull the sender out, wash it off good to get rid of the gas, and put the return line threw the sender base.
