Morning Everybody,

Hey i was thinking about going with Hooker LT's for my 02 GT Automatic. Now i was wondering where is the cheapest i can pick these up at? Do i need to buy Hookers x-pipe too? and what is a average price for an install?

On a side note i was also thinking about installing an A-pillar triple gauge pod with three simple gauges (trans temp, oil temp, oil pressure,etc..). I am planning on having it installed by a shop. I was wondering do they match the inside of the trim even if you paint them and are they hard to install (gauges)?

Thanks in advance,

Nick

Hooker headers are very nice. Don't know where to get them. Their X pipe is not catted. The Hooker headers will permit you to drop your transmission if you had to w/o removing them.

Another top brand header is Kooks.

It will be a good amout money to have them installed. I know it is a good day to do them. Depending on the place you take them I would say around $300-$400. If you know someone that can do them, that would be the cheapest route to go.

Hooker headers have a funny sort of slip mount flange. It mates well to a Hooker X. However, a good muffler shop could mount almost anything. Do you not want a Hooker X pipe?

No, i could care less about if i use there x or not, but its coming up to that time of the season where you really need to start placing orders for parts or it will be August by the time you get them. So i just want to make sure that when i place the order that i get everything in one shot. Right now i have a SLPII Cat-back and i wanted to finish off the exhaust this summer. But so far no one really knows where to get these the cheapest. The cheapest i've seen is 900 for everything.

Summit racing has the painted versions for $500, give or take a few dollars.

The Kooks are sweet but at $1200 for the headers and x-pipe I dont know:(

Im not 100% positive, but I remember reading a bunch of times that many headers do not work with Automatics. I know a lot of people with Auto have to go MAC as its one of the ones that fit. Make sure the header you want to purchase will fit your car, it may narrow down the actual choices you have.

I've already done that...See i wanted to go with BBK LT but there LT won't fit around an auto tranny housing so i had to scratch them. I did ask an employee at BBK and they suggested Hooker. Plus i also read on various forums that Hooker will work on Autos. The only down side is no cats.

Hey man, I live on the Northside of Chicago near Niles and Norridge. Have you heard of CMC, Chicagoland Mustang Club? If not, you should check us out, great bunch of people, we have a meet planned for the 8th of April. We usually get around 40-60 Mustangs out, its a good time.
