Ok, well I did/am doing a 5.0/5 speed swap into my 95' what used to be a V6/auto. The donor car I used to get the v8 and tranny out of was a 88'. Well, my 95' V6 has a 7.5 rear end correct? The 88' GT has an 8.8 right? Well the 88' is 4 lug and my 95' is 5 lug, will the axle shafts out of the 7.5 work in the 8.8?

Another thing is, the v6 rear end has Disc brakes, but the v8 has drum. What is needed to switch that, and if it's pretty in depth, I'll just stick with the drums. Thanks a ton in advance.

Where to start...yes you have a 7.5 in the 95 V6, and No the axles won't work in the 8.8. What you really need is a 8.8 axle from a 94 and up V8 doner car.

The 1988 Mustang GT 8.8" axle housing will be the same, and the quad shocks and their mounting brackets too. You'll have to find some 5 lug 8.8" axles (28 spline, unless you're upgrading), like cobra259 said. They're not that expensive at salvage yards.

Be sure not to get 8.8" axles for the 99-04 New Edge cars. Their axles are a bit longer than the 94-98 5 lugs.

Thanks for the info guys. I'm kinda low on cash right now because of this swap and everything else going on, but what kinda price do you want for them?

EDIT: You live in Michigan?! Haha, so do I, I live down by Lansing.

I'm not real sure, I'm not familiar with how much axle shafts go for. Pm me.
