Okay,
This is my first thread on the site. So I will try to get the introduction right. My car is a 1995 Mustang GT (first car). The transmission got rebuilt 3 years ago, and the rebuild shop totalled it. So it sat behind the shop for 2 years and then I rebuilt it. It now has a full urethane saleen body kit, a fiberglass saleen s351 hood, and glamour turqouise paint, very fresh and very beautiful. Before I started the body work it still ran fine, but now when I start it, it runs fine, but as soon as I start to accelerate, it practically dies on me. Im not sure what to check or fix first. Can someone please give me some advice.

Josh, Welcome to the boards!

I have to wonder how your injectors are doing. It might be worthwhile to remove them and have a shop clean and flow test them. The members on here have reported it being VERY economical (like 5 bucks an injector) to have this done.

When injectors sit with fuel in them but the car is not driven, the fuel can eventually evaporate but leave varnish behind, which affects the spray pattern, etc.

An alternative that is easier is to get your hands on a fuel injector cleaner kit that runs off the fuel rail (you disable the stock fuel delivery and let the car run off the contents of the can).

Not that this is your issue, but it is where I might begin. Also, does the issue get a lot better once the car warms up?

Good luck.
