As the self-proclaimed "King of Posters", I'm checking in to wish all a happy holiday season. Yes, I still have my "stock as a rock" 64 1/2 convertible which is safely tucked away in my garage during the cold weather.

I showed the car last summer and enjoyed meeting those new to the Mustang hobby. The show scene is NOT as much fun as actually driving my car however. It retains it's TOTALLY ORGININAL and road-worthy condition and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Doing fine!

I stopped by to see if any of the other "old timers" still frequented the board. GAWD the hours I used to spend here! The forum has changed format but I still managed to get my fossilized brain to make it work.

I still have my vision problem from my stroke and that is not likely to change. With restricted vision you REALLY don't want me out on the road! My children take me for rides in the faithful 'Stang but it is, as I, "retired". Selling the 'vert has ocurred to me but I have too many wonderful memories to make the separation.

As early 'Stangs disappear from the road, I take comfort that most are now lovingly preserved for the future. As their value climbs, owners are more careful no preserve their investment than previously, That's a GOOD thing!

Hungry Monkey! You're closing on my post count! I'm not worried though because I've been away from the board for some time. Good to see some of the old gang that are still here.

The board seems to be much more congenial than it was when I left. The is a good mix of veterans and new posters. I can't believe your not arguing the "six to V-8" swap issue! :rolleyes: :rolleyes: What a relief!

Here's some news! I've recently heard from the GINGERBREAD MAN! :canada:

Dave, seems you must be politically correct or an apology will have to be put up. I am approaching 60 and the young ones are a little different............and somewhat naive.

actually historic you don't have to be PC, you just have to not be rude, that's all. i know you don't particularly like me and that's ok. if you want people around here to respect you have to earn it, you can't just come in and post things putting people or their cars and parts down and demand that everyone automatically bow down your infinite wisdom about how fast your car can be without spending money on it and actually think that people will respect that kind of attitude.

Super Dave has been around a long time and has earned the respect he gets on this board. you have not, because you can be very condescending and most people don't like being talked down to. especially me.

you have proclaimed yourself the wizard of fast for cheap, so i guess i have proclaimed myself protector of the people who actually want to spend moeny on their cars whether you like it or not.

when you can come on the board and provide honest meaningful tech instead of just claiming how fast your car is and how you have almost no money in the suspension and can provide a reasonable argument on a part that someone has posted about without being condescending, then you will earn my respect. until then you are nothing more than a big windbag to me who is so self absorved in himself and his own accomplishments that he can't see past the end of his nose because it is pointed so high up into the air.

SD, i apologize that this happened in your thread but as you can see hystericmustang and i have some issues. and just when you thought everything was all good back in the land of stangnet. again please accept my sincerect apologies.

C'mon boys! I didn't mean to stir up old resentments; I just wanted to wish you the best for the holidays. I TO have my detractors but they have faded into cyberspace and I'm still here still building up my post count! :nice:

BTW, I'm 68 and still vertical! That in itself is an accomplishment!

it's an ongoing deal, actually SD, so don't worry you didn't stir anything up.

i'll be 37 this year so yeah i guess i'm still a young'un. i'm kind of in the same boat as you right now though SD. i'm stuck at home unable to work because of my back problems, they finally diagnosed me with severe fibromayalgia, osteoarthritis, degenerative disc disease ( known about this one for a few years) and also chronic depression stemming from the above diseases, so i spend a lot of time on the 'net and the couch watching tv.

we have decided this year that the family is going to just buy presents for my daughter since she is the only grandchild so she should have a overwhelming Christmas day. i hope everyone in your family is doing well and that each of you has a wonderful holiday as well. come around more often Dave, we miss you on here.

Happy holidays from me too. We miss your knowledge of all things peculiar and unknown to the laymen. We still get the 6 to 8 posts and stock vs. modded but most people on here now are into modding their ride for performance and safety and keeping a slight (very slight) semblance of original appearance on the outside. To each his own.
I wish you would check in more often for the posts that nobody can answer or the ones that only get one response. Miss you.:SNSign:
