A9P in a 5 speed????

the car i have used to be an automatic and the guy converted it over to a 5 speed. it still has the automatic A9P computer in the car. is this ok?? or should i switch back to a A9L. i heard that i may actually be losing power because of this. is this right???

i have an a9p in my 5 speed... seems to b fine.... i had the a9l.. till i dropped it...
