After reading through this site, trying to find some better info on the ECM I'm running, I see that's it's for a California mass air car.

What did the California cars get (or not get) that make it different? And is this ECM the reason why I can't use the "engine" light to get codes?

Thanks in advance. :nice:

No the a9s is the same EEC I received when I bought my FMS mass air conversion kit...you should be able to pull codes no problem with that or anyother EEC. The last digit is only to indicate year computer that it came from and wether it had 5spd or auto for the most part.

Hmm...that's weird then. :stick:

BTW, while I got ya here...got any times for your set-up? I've got pretty much the same thing, except for Thumper's heads and the 114lsa version of that cam, and the damn thing is slower than the old motor. :nonono: lol

Thanks for the help, man. Much appreciated. :nice:

Not in untill next week the heads are just now getting put back together after a little bowl work. I can't see you being slow with the addition of Thumpers and the xe270 maybe you need to lighten up on the fuel to lean her out or put some timing into her. Those are great heads and the cam is a good choice as well.

Granted the car is about 3800 pounds, but you're right I shouldn't be that damn slow. lol

I've been working on the timing/fuel pressure thing and found a coupla vacuum lines that were disconnected. Car seems to be running much stronger now, so we'll see.

Don't wanna turn this into an NYC LSC/DMAN thread, so I'll just say thanks. :nice:
