I had the same problem on my 96 cobra. I then called autometer and asked them what was up. The guy then told me to connect it strait to a wire from the computer and all was well from then on. (I forget which color wire though-give autometer a call)

they changed their site around, but found the original site that i found where to do it from.

94-96 Mustangs
There are two options for this particular hookup, being the left or right oxygen sensors. The best spot to make this hookup is right sensor at the PCM. This is located above or behind the passenger side kick panel. There will be a 104-pin connector in that location. To hook up to the left sensor, go to pin 43 which is a red wire with a black stripe. In order to hook up to the right sensor, go to pin 44 which is a gray wire with a light blue stripe.

i used the gray/light blue one. works, no problems. there are A LOT of wires in the bundle, like about 2 inches thick bundle of wires, just shuffle through them and you'll find them easily enough.
