Im used to driving a non abs car in the past along with newer model cars with abs. My question is this.. my cobra the abs seems to lock up too early. , example being lets say with a non abs car u can threshold break till the tires lock up. with most other newer cars i can break till aprox 15-20% of the threshold before the abs comes on and with the cobra it seems to lock up 30-40% of the threshold. Im talking driving on dry cement here. it makes me not even want to break moderatly hard due t the fact i dont want to chance the abs coming on. is this tipical of 94-95 mustangs or do i have an issue i need to look into. Im thinking something is wrong with the picture. Brian

What kind of tires are you running? If there were any type of serious problem with you abs the light would be on. I'm betting your tires/suspension is not up to the task of stopping the car properly. Then again you have a cobra. The stock brakes on a cobra are very, very good. If you really want to see if it is the abs then take the fuse out and go drive it again. See if it just locks the tires up at the same point as the abs would kick in. If it does then the abs is just doing its job.

goodyear gs-c 255-45-zr17's @32 psi all around. 70% tread left on the tires.28k on the car and suspension is ok . no worn or broken parts when i had it up in the air last week. and the brake pads are 70% front and 80% rear..

i mean that i can hear the abs modulating , i havnt had it happen yet driving fast enough to tell only like 30 40mph and i didnt stick my head out to see if it was locking and unlocking. i didnt hear skidding but i did feel and hear the abs module being activated .I would say that it is locking up though but seems like with not such a drastic deceleration to cause small skids. Im not just stabing the breaks ether. im slowly getting into them and going to slightly above moderate braking forces when it does this . not sure if all that made sence or not...lol
