ABS Sensor Issue

Hello everyone, I'm new to these boards[Hopefully I'll visit more often] and I would appreciate some help from the fellow stang owners.

I am not sure if this is asked[And I am quite automotively retarded, my brother and father have that knack] but I am having an issue with my ABS. The sensor light is lit on the dash, and I am wondering if am I may be correct in my guess to why..

First off, I was in an accident in which I had to replace the rear passenger axle, and when I had done this, I had re-used the old toner gear[I believe that is what it is called], since this day, my ABS Sensor light has remained on, and I am curious if I just need a new toner gear or what else the problem may be. I'm confident that the problem resides in the rear passenger, because when I brake[especially at lower speeds] it seems to "chunk" along[There seems to be a small window in braking when the pads let go of the rotor and re-clamp]. My brother said this "chunking" issue may be due to a bad rotor, however I bought a new one and had it turned, so he then said that should have alleviated the issue[if that were the case].

If anyone can lend some help, I'd be most appreciated. This is my car[and stang] and I'd hate to let it fall into a less-than-appreciated condition!

I believe I know what you are talking about, as I said, I'm not the most mechanically enlightened man, but that is the pin shaped like object? If that is, it was slightly bent to the right[Away from the axle], yet my father and I carefully knocked it back to the center, in hoping that it would work once again. But I may be talking of something completely different here..

I agree with the dealer and trusted mechanic route, however I simply don't have that kind of money at the moment. There are a few other minor things I have to purchase[the previous owner wasn't too keen on upkeep it would seem] but I'd like to have it done before winter, since last one was ...well to say the least, I am suprised to be alive, haha.

Thanks though, for the input. If anyone has dealt with this situation and fixed it themselves though, I'd opt to try that and save myself any money I can.
