How do you know if it is bad or not. My ABS light is on which turns my trac control off automaticaly. I think it is a wheel sensor but how can I tell if it is bad. I thought if the wire was cut or somthing like that but what if the wire is not cut, do you check for volts or something like that??

The only way to know for sure is to get the code pulled. It will not show on a normal code reader. I paid about $80 and they found that my driver's side rear speed sensor was dead. I'm unsure if there's anything you can do by yourself to test it.

How do you test is your self, hat is the whole question I m not sure how to test it my self I can get the front senors for 31.50 and the rear for 50.60 each that is..Ford loves to screw their faithful dont they

I'm sure it's a continuity thing, but don't know the specs. The pricing on the sensors sounds right. It's the labor that will kill you at the dealer. I went to the yellow pages for a local place specializing in ABS systems. They also ended up having to put some dielectric grease on the ends of the wires where it plugs into the ECU. Haven't had a problem with it since. This made me wonder about the rear sensor, whether it was truly bad, but they claim it was. All told, it was about a $300 adventure.

Good luck, and keep us posted. :nice:
