ABS sensor

So my ABS and "trac off" lights came on the other day when I started up my stang...haven't turned off since. So I had a guy at work hook it up to an OBDII tester and it threw out a code saying my rear driver-side sensor wasn't functioning properly. We went through all the trouble shooting guides for it until the point where it said I should just replace the sensor and/or ring. My question is has anybody had to do this? Should I try it myself or just take it to a Ford dealership? Any advice or guidance would be helpful.

it's not hard to do.. it's one bolt holding it in, a inverted torx I can not remember the size. But it might have been E8

It's not hard to do. Just make sure you use some good penetrating oil or WD 40 to loosen up the sensor, mine were in there pretty good.

Unplus the sensor and put a DVM on it and check resistance. Most likely it will be open as the ABS sensors are prone to cracking, getting water inside and shorting out internally.

It's an easy fix as well

Mine were like 50 bucks a piece, I couldnt get mine off when i took the axles off for my 4.10 gears so said screw it and broke em beat em off. They cracked anyways.

That's exactly what happened to me, they were impossible to get out! I made sure I fixed that problem when I put the new ones back in though. Next time they come out it will me much easier and they won't be destroyed. Glad to know I wasn't the only one who had problems getting these things out....

What scan tool did you use for the abs? I have a autoxray EZ-SCAN 5000 and i dont think that has the abs feature.

I got a ABS light on in my car two months ago and I took it to my
mechanic and he used the scan tool to check it and he says that
the ABS has internal failure and it's ruined.I need to know how do
you disconnect the brake lines from the ABS module? So,their is only
one bolt holding the ABS module in place? How long does it take to
take apart the ABS module and lines? Mike do you know? Thanks.
