Lately my ABS light came on in my dash and I didn't think much of it. Then about a week later I was unable to turn off my traction control (turn the light in the button on) but if I pushed the button, the traction control still turns off...I can still lay rubber like crazy. I have heard that the abs and traction control systems are linked? Someone please help, I replaced the button and the light still doesn't work!

Ugh. Brake lights are panic inducing. Wish I could help but my car has neither ABS or traction control.

Hope this bump will bring someone in who knows.

I have read that the two systems are related. I have also read that when the ABS light is on it disables the traction control...which is why the button will not light up!

Yes, traction control is integrated into the ABS module. They share the ABS controller and ABS sensors. Fix your ABS issue and you'll likely solve the TC problem. Codes can be pulled from the ABS system... either by a shop/dealer or yourself if you are creative or have the right tools. Do some searching. The code will tell you what's going on.
