So I have a conversion unit on car already when I bought the car. Now that have motor in and engine runs, is there anything I might need to check or do before I recharge the refrigerant in the ac system. What is it now a days? R-13? I haven’t worried about ac in a long time… can I buy the refrigerant? And if so where?

Before you start, what is the condition of the receiver/dryer? If it’s been exposed to the atmosphere, you’ll need to replace it first. Then, You’ll need to do a vacuum test. Pull a vacuum on the system, close the values, and see if it holds. If it does, you’ll need to do a pressure test. Same thing, just with about 80ish, see if it holds. If those work out, you’ll need to pull a vacuum, I usually do it for 2 or 3 hours. That will allow all of the moisture out of the system. After that, you’ll need to can charge the system and test it. Good luck, I’m sure others will chime in.

There are no cars in the US that are 2015+ that require a R134 [conversion].

What does that have to do with this thread? I didn’t mention anything about requirements.. my car has a conversion already installed.

Do you realize that this is the S550 section (2015 - 2023)?
