No...No dyno. But there is more to the story. The C&L on my car leaned it soo much that my car started to miss-fire. I was running 28% lean over stock and the injectors could not keep up. This is an interesting number, because it is just about what our cars are designed to keep up with. The C&L messes with the fuel curves and the 02 sensors that are reading the lean/rich are use this data to try to correct the situation, but the fuel curves are off.
C&L is mis-representing this product! The assumption is that you just slap it on. They NEVER say anything about a dyno tune. I have never found a tuner who will touch one of these things...it is bad science. Your tuner must be a genius.
Also, think of all the extra money to spend...optimizer and dyno tune just for a few extra hp. The typical bolt-on car does not ever benefit from a dyno tune. This C&L MAF creates the need for it. So you pay $250 for the thing and then another $500 after the optimizer and the dyno tune. I am not sure about the $, maybe I am just reaching. Seems crazy to me.
I have read loads of post from guys with near stock or bolt-ons who bitch about the 4 hp gain they got after paying $350 from a dyno tune. As stated before, using the C&L creates a need for a dyno tune.
My advice, don't mess with the stock MAF unless it is pegged. But that's just me.
I really appreciate your article. It was well written and documented. You should be proud of your work...very professional. But, I encourage you to look into this MAf issue more.
