Ok so im installing my accufab plenum with 75mm tb on my 00 gt. And a bolt snaps in ****in half, on the vaccuum housing section. There is a top and bottom bolt, so i screw in the top bolt, and it seems fine.

I tried everything, drilling it, taping it out, n the tap ****kin brookeee in half. Any suggestions, should i just go to a local mechanic. The car runs fine, but i will def need that bolt to be in there long term.

OO yea, do not get the JLT COLD AIR KIT, it was the biggest bitchh on earth to install, n it practically rides on ur fender wall by ur front right tire. It is wayyy to bigg, and the maf has to be repositioned in the fender wall. SOO MUCH BULL****

Take a picture of it ... we could help you better if we saw the bolt ..

The intake manifold has threaded inserts that the bolts screw into. I bet you're talking about the single bolt (aside from the 4 main ones) right? I almost broke mine accidentally because it didn't feel like it was tight enough. But yeah, pics would help a bunch.

yea, the same thing happened to me. you will have to drill it out. my bolt was really stuck in there so i was a bitch to get out. but you will have to use force and you may ruin the hole. but the plenum is aluminum so while you screw it out with the hand tapper, the grooves in the screw hole are gonna get really messed up. since its so soft. there is no way to cleanly get it out without ruining some of the aluminum.

I bought the recoil thread repair kit.

size m6-1
part no 35060
drill: 6.3MM 1/4
Lot number 412395

it seems you know what the tools and tapper are, but for everyone else here, here is an image of what i got, i was about 40 or 50 bucks. http://www.postnetlnc.com/Z400/TechTips/Tech01/Helicoil2.jpg

If you can, use a Dremel to cut a slot in the remaining bolt. Once the head is broken off, there is not much holding the remaining stud in place so it can be (fairly) easily removed with a screwdriver. It will be a pain but you should take the TB/plenum off as a complete assembly and head to the workbench. You may be able to get at the bolt from the plenum side.

HTH,
