definitely not easy. But my question is, the c clip put small scratches in the wrist pin hole area. I did not scratch the O.D. of the piston thankfully, but is it normal to get small scratches when installing the C clips?

Unless you've completely gouged the crap out of something, it's a non-issue. Just make sure each clip is fully seated.

None of that stuff comes in contact. Piston rings and skirts... that's it.

Aren't they perty when they're all new and shiney!

Here are some tear down pics. Motor was super clean for 2001. It obviously spun a rod bearing. The top of the pistons had a lot of carbon build up.
The block is at Diamond Dons Racing in Hammond La. He is a local legend. I am doing the assembly and it’s my first time. The motor will be a 900HP MMR build. I paid for the 750 and MMR sent the H beam rods in place of the I beam. Pretty darn cool.

I have been working on the heads. Getting them ready for MMR cams. Completely rebuilt heads. No porting. Just finished valve lapping. Went with course and fine. They came out great.
